Skeeter NEWS - Vol. 7 No. 1 - Late November 2007
The recently appointed and currently serving Trustees of the WSC are Jim Curley, Greg Khalaf, Joe Delorenzo (thru 2008), Bernie Willis, Jan Kwiecinski and Bob Miller (thru 2009) and Frank Decolator, representing the Wayside Land Company. Officers for the calendar year 2008 will be John Urciuoli, President; Jim Curley, Vice President; Colleen Kelley, Secretary; Howard Dailey, Treasurer and Bill Walton, Vice President in Charge of Membership. The new president will appoint committee chairs for 2008. If you are interested in serving on a WSC Committee, please contact John Urciuoli to VOLUNTEER.
The club is in need of active Range Officers. If you are a qualified Range Officer, please take the responsibility to sign up to help keep the club open when it's supposed to be. A calendar for the next three months is always posted on the bulletin board at the clubhouse...sign on an open day or phone to sign up. Help is needed on weekends, especially on Saturdays. If you are not currently qualified to serve as a Range Officer, please contact Bernie Willis (Bernie is often at the club on Wednesdays - 732-922-1292). A Range Officer Guideline Refresher Session will be scheduled for those previously qualified range officers who have not served recently. EVERY WSC Member is encouraged to read the Range Officer Guidelines published on this web page. http://www.chiplakenews.org/ROguidelines.htm
Club Dues Bills have been mailed and are payable on or before December 31, 2007...BY MAIL... directly to the Membership Chairman at: Walton, 100 Cold Indian Spring Road, Ocean, NJ 07712-3717. Your 2008 dues MUST be accompanied by a signed and dated Member's Waiver, Release and Promise to Indemnify FORM (one is enclosed with your dues bill or at http://www.chiplakenews.org/WSCwaiver.htm) and the information sheet (also enclosed with your dues billing letter and membership card)...you must mail all three items.
Fold the info sheet so that the return address shows through the enclosed window envelope, sign and date your waiver FORM and include your dues check...and mail.
You must pay your dues before you use the club's facilities in 2008 and they must be paid by mail...DO NOT DELIVER YOUR DUES TO THE CLUBHOUSE !!! Range Officers who have earned credit for their dues are requested to pay only the amount noted on their dues bill.
If any of your IMMEDIATE FAMILY shoots,, i.e., your spouse or children (ages 23 and under), we want a waiver form for each of them too. For a youngster (under age 18) a parent (or guardian) must sign the waiver form for the youngster. Member and family shooters need only sign a waiver form once...it will be kept on file for the duration of your membership. If you have a child who is on active duty in the US Military, he/she may also shoot as a member (and a waiver form is required). Other "family" members such as older children and your brothers and sisters and other "family" may shoot as a guest while under your direct supervision. When you host a guest, please plan to use the North Field.
The Membership Rolls are now FULL with 145 members. Openings will occur upon the resignation or death of a member or non-payment of dues by February 15, 2008 (or by Board of Director action). If you have a friend who wants to JOIN WSC, now is the time for him to file an application...copies are available at the clubhouse...an Official Waiting List will be started and new members will be accepted from that list in order of our receipt of a COMPLETED application form and application fee. If you don't intend to renew your WSC membership for 2008, a letter of resignation will be appreciated.
Because the price of factory manufactured shot has become so expensive, mixed size reclaimed shot is starting to appear on the reloading market, usually in heavy plastic (not canvas) bags. The WSC has a STRICT shot size requirement that mixed size reclaimed shot DOES NOT MEET. If you purchase reclaimed shot, it is YOUR RESPONSIBILITY to see that it meets our shot size requirement...size #8 or smaller. Reclaimed shot often contains size #7 1/2 and larger shot and is not allowed at WSC. Don't put your membership at WSC at risk by using shot larger than size #8. The Range Officers have been instructed to pay close attention to policing our shot size rule.
Because the price of lead shot has skyrocketed, the retail price of factory ammo is expected to increase sharply...soon. If you reload, be sure to observe our shot size and rule...if you shoot factory ammo, you might want to buy a supply soon...buy LIGHT SKEET LOADS...do not buy field loads.
The final note of this SkeeterNEWS is that all members are expected to "feed the kitty" when they have a coffee or a snack at the club...there is no "free lunch!" In addition to coffee and the usual donut or cookies that are usually available, there may be popcorn or soup or a more hearty snack in the cupboard above the stove. If you raid the cupboard, you are expected to put a little more than usual in the "coffee can." If you see that the cupboard supply is running low, bring a supply with you next time you come to the club and ask the Range Officer to reimburse you from the food money that has been collected.
Shoot gud...and thanks for paying your dues on time.

A ?Briley? ejector was found on one of the fields at the club recently. It appears to be from a 20 ga. tube set. The owner will find it taped to the side of the Macintosh Computer on the Range Officer's desk at the clubhouse.
There has been a set of black Walker's Power (ear) Muffs and a pair of brown leather gloves kicking around the clubhouse for the last couple weeks. They were still there last Wednesday.
The Boro of Tinton Falls has promised to look into the flooding of our entry road. Hopefully they'll fix it so we don't have to.
Pres. Mihalko has the committee system working well at WSC but there are still some chairman-less committees. Bernie's looking for a chair for the new "Buildings" Committee, the Social Committee and an overall Shooting Chairman (There are subchairs for both League Shooting and Registered Shooting but the club should have a chairman that oversees ALL shooting and reports to the Board of Directors. Of course all the current chairmen are interested in knowing any members willing to help...if you're interested, contact Greg Khalaf about House, Tom Clark about Grounds, Bernie Willis about Range Officers, John Tedesco about Safety, John Gardella about illnesses and Bill Walton about Membership and Communications.
We recently received notice that the IRS has waived the $1,300+ penalty that they assessed to us in September for filing our 2004 tax return late. We owed no tax but were several months late in filing the appropriate form. We won't spend the money till we get it though.
Our membership rolls currently have six openings and 8-10 applications have been given out...several have been out for several months and may never be filed. If you've got a buddy who wants to join, know that the first six qualified applicants will be taken first...after that names are put on the Waiting List until a member croaks or resigns or doesn't pay his 2007 dues this time next year...or if the Board creates more openings. NOW is the time to put an application on file with the Membership Committee. About six 2005 members resigned and five more were dropped for non-payment of dues. The current roster is posted at the clubhouse.
CALENDAR DATES:
Sunday, MARCH 19 - 28 ga. "Paddy's" Registered Shoot - Make reservations with Ed Whitman (his phone number is posted on the blackboard at the clubhouse...if you need it, phone the clubhouse on a Wed., Sat. or Sun. afternoon). I don't know whether there's gonna be Corned Beef & Cabbage or not. 17 shooters participated in the 20 ga. shoot in February.
Saturday, APRIL 1 - Changed to April 8th - same time - Spring Cleanup between 9:00 and Noon at the clubhouse. Grounds chairman, Tom Clark would like to know how many hands to count on so please sign up on the sheet posted on the bulletin board at the club. All members are encouraged to sign up and attend...even if you're old and crippled...cripples can always bark orders or run for supplies.
Saturday, APRIL 8 - Range Officer Training starts at 2:00 pm at the clubhouse. Talk to Bernie Willis, RO Chairman or sign up on the sheet on the bulletin board. If nobody signs up, Bernie might not make the trip. After serving three days, ROs are credited $15.00 toward next year's dues for each day they sign up (including those first three days).
Wednesday, APRIL 12 - Board of Director's Meeting starts at 5:00 at the clubhouse. All members may attend (and speak when recognized by the chair), but of course only Board Members may vote. The nine elected Trustees and Officers make up the Board of Directors
Sunday, APRIL 16 - Easter Sunday - CLUB CLOSED
Sunday, APRIL 23 - DOUBLES Registered Shoot - Sign up with Ed Whitman. As always, WSC members may sign up the day after the previous shoot...non-members may sign up 2 weeks after the previous shoot.
The Leagues (all gauges - all the time) are operating...maybe someday HR will release a write-up about the leagues and more members will participate. It don't cost much and it's a good way to learn about and prepare to start shooting Registered Targets. New members shouldn't be ascared of shooting competitively but you ought'a be able to shoot a 20 by the time you start. You may shoot any gauge in League competition which is pretty informal. New shooters might even want to visit the club on a Registered Shoot day to observe the protocols followed by the Registered Shooters and Referees. Axe Hank if you want more info about the leagues.
SHOOT SKEET!
Shoot RAWPEASEU SKEET. Bernie M. has posted the second highest score at 18. Try your hand at it if you're not afraid that it'll ruin your style.

The WSC commonly grants HONORARY MEMBERSHIP to any person who (1)
has been a member of the WSC in good standing for a period of
five or more years and (2) has severed his/her relationship with
the WSC under good terms (includes but is not limited to being
paid up at the time of severance and having issued a written
resignation) and (3) now resides in a state other than New Jersey
(driver's license). The privilege of being recognized as an HM
allows the former member to shoot as (A) a hosted guest up to
five times in any one calendar year at the WSC and ADDITIONALLY
to shoot (B) unhosted at the WSC an additional five times in the
calendar year indicated on his HM card.
Upon the HM's request, an Honorary Membership Card on which is
printed the year and the numbers 1-5 will be issued to the HM.
One of the numbers will be punched by the Range Officer for each
unhosted appearance at any time during the year printed on the
HM's card...no number will be punched for any of up to five
appearances when the HM is hosted by a current member.
All other guest requirements and fees are in effect, including

Summary of Discussions and Actions
Taken by the Board of Directors 1/18/06
The WSC Board of Directors were called to order at approximately
5:05 PM on January 18th - All Board of Director members were
present except Colletti - Greg Khalaf and Chris were the only two
visitors in attendance - President Mihalko was elected Chairman
of the Board of Directors - The Board elected Bill Damora to fill
the position of Club Secretary until the regular elections in
November. (Bill is the first official Club Secretary since the
club was reorganized two years ago.)
____
President - Bernie Mihalko - No Report
First Vice President - John Tedesco - No Report
VP Records - Secretary - Bill Damora - No Report
____
VP Finances - Treasurer - Howard Dailey reported
approximately $26,150 in the treasury with some undeposited dues
receipts in hand - All bills have been paid with two insurance
premiums coming due soon. Quarterly RE Taxes are due Feb. 1st.
The board resolved to complete the federal Exempt Annual Report
soon and to seek the help of the accountant who we consulted in
this fall about our late report for 2004. The 2004 IRS penalty
for late filing is still under consideration by the IRS. The
Board formed a Financial Oversight Committee which includes
Treasurer Dailey, Bill Damora, Bill Walton and Bernie Willis. The
committee will conduct an in-house audit of the club's 2005
financial records. Bernie Willis will be added to the list of
check signers which has included Dailey and former interim
Treasurer, Bill Walton (former President Fanning apparently never
completed the paperwork to be added to the list).
____
VP Membership - Bill Walton - The 2006
Membership Committee consists of Walton,John Tedesco, Howard
Dailey, Jim Curley & Dave Bittrich. 134 of the authorized 135
Membership positions are filled - The final open position is
currently in the process of being filled by an applicant who has
been on the Waiting list (but read on) - one applicant remains on the Waiting List - 1
applicant is almost on the Waiting List - an additional 5-10
applications are "out" and another application was
given out at the meeting - if filed, they will be reviewed by the
Membership Committee and processed as openings occur.
Resignations have been received from Galioto, Bisbee, DiGiovanni,
Patrusevich & Menges.
Only 120 members have paid in full with all data requirements
satisfied. One membership is paid but additional required data is
still needed before his check will be deposited and one
membership has been partially paid. One applicant's dues and
initiation fee is in the process of being paid. There are still
12 members unpaid (no response to the request for dues sent in
Nov/Dec). The Board decided that no further solicitation will be
made of the late payers...that if still unpaid, they will merely
be dropped as of Feb. 16th as per the bylaws. After discussion,
the Board voted to open an additional 5 membership
positions with the result being that the one applicant
now on the Waiting List will immediately be invited to join the
club (and that the next four shooters who complete applications
will be invited to join immediately). After Feb. 15th, assuming
that some of the 12 unpaid 2005 members do not pay, new
applicants will be invited to join as their completed
applications are filed, reviewed and approved. There was some
discussion about eliminating or reducing dues for members above a
certain age but no action was taken.
Range
Officers - Newly qualified Range Officers include: Igor
Bondar, Paul Desiderio and Greg Khalaf. Additional RO instruction
classes are planned. If you are not a RO and want to be, please
contact Bernie Willis, RO Chair. He's usually at the club on
Wednesdays. The club was closed 14 days last year because no RO
signed up to open the club. Volunteer to become a RO and do your
share to help keep the WSC open on Wednesdays, Saturdays and
Sundays.
____
President Mihalko appointed Greg Khalaf as the new chairman of
the House Committee. Anyone interested in
assisting Greg with HOUSE affairs should contact Greg directly.
The clubhouse doesn't take care of itself and the shelves don't
get restocked automatically. It doesn't take much work but
someone does have to attend to the amenities of the clubhouse so
all can enjoy it. Do your share.
____
There was discussion about which committees were responsible for
various jobs and although no final decision was reached,
concensus had it that a fourth "properties" committee,
a Buildings Committee, would be formed in
addition to the current three, House (Khalaf as chair), Grounds
(Tom Clark) and Traps (Jan Kwiecinski). Anyone interested in
assisting on any of these committees should contact the named
chairs directly...or President Mihalko. Do your share.
Registered
Shooting - Pres. Mihalko reported that he had met with
Ed Amaty and Ed Whitman and has appointed them co-chairmen in
charge of the club's Registered Shoots. Points agreed included
that a RS Committee would be formed and that the committee would
meet to discuss and determine the details of the operation of
WSC's Registered Shoots, that telephone reservations would be
taken (WSC members will have the exclusive right to sign up for
the first two weeks after the previous shoot, after which any
other NSSA member may reserve an open squad position. The
registered shoots will no longer be "Invitational" and
both times and fields will be assigned as reservations are taken
and squadding is assigned. Walk-ins will be squadded depending on
open squad positions. The Committee will review and finalize both
shoot dates and guns to be shot. Fees will be set at $26.00 per
100 targets PLUS any expense for food as determined by the
Committee. RS Committee members will be assigned responsibilities
to send reports (and perhaps pictures) to the NJSSA website and
NSSA's Skeet Shooting Review. The Committee will hire official
referees for WSC shoots...shooters will not be conscripted to
referee their own squads.
After some discussion, it was decided that the RS Committee would
be required to arrange for an approved Range Officer to be
present to open the club and see to normal RO duties during each
shoot. The RO is to be paid $20.00 cash from the proceeds of the
shoot and will be responsible for all standard RO duties for the
duration of the shoot along with any special requirements of the
Committee. Separate from these specific duties (and although that
same RO may volunteer to continue) any of the club's other Range
Officers may sign up to "open" the club and oversee
normal operations (practice shooting) as of 1:30 PM on "one
gun shoot days" on the North Field and then on the Main
Field after all Registered Shooting has finished. The RO who
oversees normal operations after 1:30 will be granted standard RO
credit toward his dues and will be responsible to close the club.
If no "afternoon" RO is available to stay on and keep
the club open, the facilities will be closed by the RS Committee
at the end of the Registered Shoot.
The "morning" RO is not to be used as a Referee or as
shoot personel but rather will be specifically responsible for
the operation of the club's facilities, including loading the
traps, maintanence and overseeing sign-ins and safety concerns.
The Board reaffirms that ROs are authorized to load the traps but
that only trained members of the Trap Committee are to make
adjustments to the traps, including directional adjustments and
repairs.
The RS Committee shall determine what awards are to be given and
whether or not prizes or money will be the actual awards. The
Committee is to decide whether or not to allow/receive concurrent
prize payouts such as, for example, Lewis Class Purses.
The manager for each shoot will be responsible to make a written
financial report and file it with the club's Treasurer after each
shoot...the Treasurer will continue to receive and bank excess
proceeds from the shoot and pay out exchange funds to the NJSSA
and NSSA (and probably money prizes if the committee chooses to
move to financial awards (when the winning shooter leaves before
winners are determined for the day)...final details will be
worked out between the Committee and the Treasurer. It was
determined that the Registered Shooting program is expected to be
self-sustaining and that up to $1,000.00 of that accumulated
excess will remain at the disposal of the RS Committee at the end
of each Registered Shooting "year." Additionally, the
Committee will be responsible for the costs of
"special" shoots (and amenities) such as the Paddy's
Shoot in March with Corned Beef and the Thanksgiving Shoot Turkey
Dinnner. The CoChairs have agreed to "run" the club
championship CLOSED shoot in June (12 & 20 ga) with hot dogs
and hamburgers that is open to all club members (whether or not
each participant is a "registered shooter" or a member
of NSSA).
Finally, it was determined that if the RS Committee chooses, it
may allow non-WSC-members to serve on that committee and that
everybody who uses WSC facilities...everybody who comes to the
WSC...is to sign-in on the club's Daily Sign-in Register whether
or not they shoot. "If you are on club property your name is
to be shown on the Daily Sign-in Register." As per club
policy, non-member shooters will be required to sign our standard
assumption of responsibility and indemnity form...including all
Registered Shooters.
____
The BoD discussed the WSC's policy on policing dropped
hulls and determined that club members are still
responsible to police their own dropped hulls before they leave
the property, that Registered Shooters are to be asked (directly)
to police their dropped hulls after their 100 targets and finally
that the Grounds Committee is ultimately responsible for
unrecovered hulls. The Board will consider purchasing a
mechanical devise to pick the hulls up if a need is determined by
the Grounds Committee. It is not the responsibility of the ROs to
police dropped hulls. It shall be the responsibility of the RS
Committee/Morning RO to leave the fields in a clean state,
including policing any hulls on the ground at the end of the RS.
Members are requested that "while picking up your own hulls,
please pick up any other abandoned hulls remaining on the field
as you retrieve yours"...there are buckets inside the club
where unwanted hulls may be deposited to be claimed by other
member or disposed of with weekly trash. The club grounds are
being well taken care of...do your share...help keep costs (and
dues) down.
____
The Ad Hoc Committee previously assigned to review the club's
"House Rules and Regulations" passed
out it's final recommendations for the review of the BoD. The BoD
will review the list and act on those (and other) proposals at a
future meeting. The specific issues of animals inside the
clubhouse was left that the actions of the animal are the
responsibility of the animal's owner. (If Iggy eats your lunch,
see Tom.)
The BoD determined that the issue of smoking inside the clubhouse
had originally been determined by action of the entire membership
"in convention" and that that "no smoking inside
the clubhouse" directive could only be rescinded by action
of the membership at either the May or November meetings (and
only if a quorum is present). The clubhouse remains
"smoke-free." The Range Officers are to enforce the
policy.
____
After lengthy discussion, it was determined (for various reasons)
that ammo will NOT BE AVAILABLE at the WSC
(after April 1, 2006 or sooner if we run out). It is the
responsibility of ALL SHOOTERS to provide/bring their own ammo.
Members especially need to remind their guests that the WSC will
not provide ammo after April 1st. All members are reminded that
the club has two strict requirements dealing with ammo...shot
size is limited to #8 or smaller and ammo velocity is limited to
1200 fps (or 3 dram equivalent). DO NOT USE HIGH VELOCITY AMMO no
matter how cheap it might be. DO NOT USE TRAP OR HUNTING LOADS.
If you have a question about your ammo, ask a range officer.
____
It was decided to arrange for internet access at
the club. Dial-up internet service will be contracted for from an
Internet Service Provider (ISP) for a trial 6 month period. Both
computers will have access to the internet and with the
permission of the RO of the Day, members may use the club's
computers (a Mac and a PC) to access the internet. If you don't
KNOW how to use either computer, ask for help. The club will
arrange for a propriatary e-mail address with the final details
and who is to be given the password will be worked out. Your
input is solicited.
____
As noted above, EVERYONE who arrives at the WSC
is expected to SIGN-IN at the Range Officer's
Desk WHETHER OR NOT HE INTENDS TO SHOOT. If you
are on WSC property, your name shall be on the daily Sign-In
sheet. A new form has been designed with a "status"
column. If you shoot, you're status is either MS (Member
Shooter), GS (Guest Shooter), RS (Registered Shooter), if you
don't shoot, it may be V (Visitor - Non-Shooter) or another
designation or description is to be given. M for Member or F for
family of a member is acceptible but if you are a
shooter, be sure to append an S so the RO knows.
The bottom line for everyone being required to sign-in is for
liability purposes. Get into the habit of signing in AND OUT when
you are at WSC. Thanks! Range Officers are to note the presence
of others, such as deliverers, inspectors, meter-readers, service
providers and ANYONE ELSE who fails to sign in. Don't forget to
report the number of rounds you shoot each day...the ROs aren't
mind-readers...you wouldn't want them to punch TOO MANY would
you?
____
The BoD reviewed the issue of requiring ROs to work three times
in a year...and made no change to the current policy.
A RO must serve three or more days to receive any credit toward
his dues.
____
The Board reviewed the need to: Purchase a New
Tractor for Lawn cutting, Repair/replace North Field high house
stairs, Replace door on lower section of North Field High House
and modify interior for storage, Replace the roof on center Trap
house, Waterproof the walls on all of the houses, Replace the
gutters on the clubhouse and add downspouts and drainage dry
wells, Repair the holes in the road. Fix the low spot in drive
that floods, Run electric power feeds, for maintenance purposes,
to trailers and to skeet houses & Install crib supports for
trailers (may need modification of trailer). Determinations will
be investigated.
____
The meeting was adjourned at about 9:15.
______
The Wayside Skeet Club doesn't run by itself. Dues are cheap...DO
YOUR SHARE to keep them that way. VOLUNTEER to
help!Interesting Thought for the day:
______
If you consider that there have been an average of 160,000 troops
in the Iraqi Theater of Operations during the last 23 months, and
a published total of 2112 deaths, that gives a firearm death rate
of 60 per 100,000.
The firearm death rate in Washington D.C. is 80.6 per 100,000.
That means that you are about 25% more likely to be shot and
killed in our Nation's Capitol, which has some of the strictest
gun control laws in the nation, than you are in Iraq. That pales
even more when you realize that 500-600 American deaths in Iraq
due to non-combatant accidental cause are lumped in
with the total published count and the firearm death rate in
Washington is probably pretty accurate
Conclusion: We should immediately pull out of
Washington D.C.
Ya gotta love the logic.

Officer/Trustee Reports:
A Treasurer, H. Dailey reported the clubs account balances
with all bills paid.
B VP Membership B. Walton reported that the dues letters are
being sent out and that members who fail to pay their dues by
February 15, 2006, will be in jeopardy of losing their membership
spots. Presently the rolls are full at 135 members, with four
applicats currently on the waiting list.
Committee Reports
C Range Officer Chairman
B. Mihalko reported that two (2) Range Officer Training classes
were held, for six (6) new officers. The total Range Officers is
now at twenty-three (23). The new officers are B. Walton, J.
Curley, B. Damora, J. Pace, P. Desiderio, and I. Bondar. New
training classes will be posted on the clubs bulletin board
and on the website. A policy of requiring at least nine (9) cases
of targets at each skeet house, at the end of the day, has been
met with good success. In order to qualify for a reduction in
dues, the individual must serve at least three (3) days per year
as Range Officer.
D House and Grounds B. Mihalko reported that spring
clean-up day in April was attended by twelve (12) members. They
filled a ten (10) cubic yard dumpster with the debris from the
edge of the woods and the club grounds. The installation of the
new fence has been completed. A new furnace was installed. We
purchased two (2) new (used) trailers to replace the old leaking
non-repairable ones. Thanks to J. Curley for putting us in
contact with an individual that supplied us with the trailers at
a much reduced price.
We contracted B. Clark (a club member) to demolish the old
trailers (they were removed in two 30 cubic yard dumpsters),
install concrete pads for the new trailers, and replace the old
loading dock with a new one. Bob did a great job for us at a
great price. The trailers were put in place on their pads and are
now housing targets and other club property. The total cost for
the furnace, trailers, pads, and loading dock came to
approximately $16,000.
The clubs safe combination has been changed. H. Reinbold
donated some winter fertilizer for the skeet fields which has
been applied.
E Safety Chairman R. Colletti reported that he was not able to be
involved as much this year and had asked J. Tedesco to fill-in in
his behalf. There were no safety incidents reported.
F Registered Shoot Chairman J. Urciuoli reported that the amount
of target cost, returned to clubs Target Reserve Fund, was
raised to $2.00 per round. The cost of purchasing targets has
increased in part, due to delivery cost (from $350. to $472),
caused by increase in fuel costs.
G Trap Maintenance Committee Chairman J. Tedesco reported that
the machines were striped down to the magazine plate for
servicing. They were cleaned, inspected, greased, worn parts
replaced and readjusted to specification. Prior to each
registered shoot the machines were inspected, cleaned and parts
replaced as needed. Additional parts were ordered, so we would
have on hand what is necessary for normal repairs. Additional
tools were bought, that are needed in the servicing and repair of
the machines. Next spring we are planning on swapping out one of
the machines with a spare that we have, and do a complete tear
down, inspection and repair of it.
Old Business - None.
New Business
The chairman asked for a show of hands on how the floor feels
about doing a major repair on the entrance road to the club, in
2006. He is sure everyone sees how bad it has become. The floor
agreed unanimously.
Election of Officers and Trustees:
The Chairman then explained the ways an individual can be
nominated for an Officer and/or Trustee.
1. A member can notify the Nominating Committee verbally or in
writing that they wish to nominate themselves or another member.
2. The Nominating Committee may propose any member.
3. A member may be nominated from the floor
4. All nominated members must accept the nomination before the
election.
The Chairman asked the Chairman of the Nominating Committee and
the Secretary if they received any correspondence indicating that
a member was nominated. Neither had received any recommendations.
The Nominating Committee was asked for their report. Chairman J.
Kwiecinski thanked T. Clark for participating in the
committees efforts and proposed a slate of officers and
directors for the next term (2006) (See the list at the top of
this newsletter.) The Chairman then asked for any nominations
from the floor. None being offered, a motion was made to close
nominations, seconded and carried. M. Cernigliaro made a motion
that (as there was only one nomination for each open position)
the Secretary be directed to cast one for each candidate proposed
by the Nominating Committee. Seconded by J. Curley. The motion
carried. The President directed the Secretary to cast the vote,
electing the slate of Officers and Trustees as nominated. The
Secretary complied. The Officers will take office January 1,
2006. The Trustees will take office immediately. The vacant
Secretary position will be filled by the Board of Directors
according to the Bylaws.
For the Good of the Organization
The next General Membership meeting will be held in the month of
May, notices will be sent out to members.
Board of Director meetings will be held in January, April, July,
and October on the second Wednesday of the month at 5:00 pm.
Chairman Mihalko thanked J. Urciuoli, Rich & Sue Colletti,
and Kevin & Meryl Boyd for putting on and serving the
Thanksgiving Dinner.
J. Curley thanked the leadership and the individuals who have
worked on the various improvements in the Club. He has been a
member for sometime and has never seen the club looking better.
B. Walton suggested that a Social Committee be organized to put
on events for the clubs membership.
A motion to adjourn the meeting was made, seconded and carried by
the floor. Meeting was closed at 6:00 PM.
