DIRECTIONS
The Calais Rod & Gun Club's Round Pond Clubhouse is located on the Charlotte Road about eight miles west of US Route 1, as Charlotte Road meets Round Pond, just northeast of Sweet Meadow Road.
Travelling south on US Route One before you get to Calais and as you enter the Moosehorn NWS, immediately after crossing the old railroad tracks, turn right (west) onto Charlotte Road and go through the Moosehorn National Wildlife Sanctuary area...the club's driveway is on the left, directly across from the beach and boat launch area at Round Pond.
The Calais R&GC holds regular meetings on the first Thursday of each month at 7:00 at the clubhouse usually accompanied by a Pot Luck Supper at 6:00.
Individual dues are $15.00 per year and are payable annually on January 1st. Family dues are $20.00.
Ben Brown is Club President, Richard McPhee is treasurer (continuing) and Mary Szwec is Secretary (continuing). Vinton Cassidy was elected 1st Vice President, Dana Gillespie, 2nd Vice President and Bill Tracey3rd Vice President. Nancy McPhee is Membership Chairperson (2009-10).

We regularily shoot:Trap on Thursdays 10:00 AM to 1:30 PM
Trap/Skeet on Tuesdays 4:00 PM until dusk
Skeet on Sundays 10:00 AM until 3:00 PM.
(and sometimes Five Stand or occasionally in the summer or fall, Sporting Clays in the woods if announced on the preceeding Thursday)

Club facilities include a large clubhouse with a kitchen and meeting room, a trap field, a skeet (and Five-Stand) field, a Sporting Clays course through the woods, a 25 yard outdoor pistol range with 8 indoor firing ports and falling steel plates...target holders are provided (no rifles larger than .22 cal. on the pistol range - no full metal jacketed bullets on the falling steel targets). The 200 yard rifle range is always open (except when we're shooting Skeet or Sporting Clays) and our running deer range is open, usually on our annual Field Days.
Clay targets are $4.00 per round of 25 for skeet, trap and five-stand and $20.00 for sporting clays.
Guests are welcome.

Annual Meeting and Election of Officers - First Thursday in May at 7:00 (after Dinner).
Monthly dinner meetings are held at 7:00 PM on the First Thursday of each Month with Pot Luck Dinners starting at 6:00.

Although most excuses work well for both disciplines, Trap shooters may need to use slightly modified excuses.If you haven't tried it, "Five Stand" is a blast! Bring plenty of ammo. Sporting Clays will help prepare you for patridge and timberdoodles.
The Calais Rod and Gun Club was formed on 1 March 1939 in Calais, Maine. The initial by-laws were accepted at the 1 March 1939 meeting indicating that several work sessions had taken place prior to the March meeting. The object of this organization are social, educational and scientific for the promotion of the fish and game interests of the State of Maine, and to assist and encourage in every possible way the enforcement of the fish and game laws.
