CLIC's 2009 DIF&W Petitions

The time for collecting signatures has passed.

CLIC's 2009 Petition Drive was intended to have the 2010-2011 Maine DIF&W regulations changed to allow a fisherman on Boundary Waters...at least on East Grand Lake... between Maine and New Brunswick to
tend two lines on open water
and
to fish through the ice at night for cusk.

Nearly 500 (total) signatures were collected and submitted with the endorsement of the local Maine DIF&W Biologists.

...however...

It appears that the Commissioner and state and province rulemakers didn't want that to happen...so those proposed rule changes have not been incorporated in the current rule books and will not be in effect for at least the next two years...we'll have to wait and see if those changes will be made in 2012 or thereafter.
